It’s that time of year when champagne brunches are a must!
If you’re looking for what to wear we had fun playing dress up for my close friend Jenny Johnson’s photoshoot for her champagne Champy campaign.
We had a blast on the roof deck, though it was a lot colder than it looked in the pics!
We were instructed by wardrobe to come dressed in pastel colors preferably solid. I wanted to wear a printed goto dress that I got from Anthropology years ago, but luckily I read the memo before heading out and grabbed this fun For Love and Lemons dress from my closet. I paired it with a floppy hat from H & M and pale pink Jimmy Choo pumps–actually my very first pair of luxury shoes! Who knew what a naughty habit I was starting that first day in the Jimmy Choo boutique! They have really stood the test of time, and are actually very comfortable. When investing in a pair of luxury shoes for the first time, a safe bet is to go with a style that is classic, timeless, and a fit that is comfortable.
Jenny wore an Anthropology dress in the signature Champy golden colored hue, paired with chunky heels and some delicate gold jewelry. Yellow is a hot on trend color for this summer, so bring out your yellow. To create a beautiful and fun COLOR balance, try pairing it with a pop of purple, or even royal blue. I think back on all the beautiful Florentinian pottery with shades of yellow and blue, or even paintings by Claude Monet, both sources you can take inspiration from for your color palette.
I love this lace look too for a perfect champagne brunch. Lace continues to be on trend, and what better way to incorporate a fantastic use of MATERIALS into your look but with a gorgeous long sleeve summer dress. The laciness of the outfit should keep you cool, since there are holes all over, and if you like arm coverage, this is a perfect option for a summer dress.
You can’t go wrong with any of these outfits for your brunch date!
