Summer is finally here which means it’s time to bring out your best summer florals. Floral is a huge trend, and it’s always been one of my favorites.

It works well in solid colors as well as a multi color floral. If you are going for a theme color, choose a solid floral print in that same color. I’d love to see trends like this making their way into bridesmaids dresses, because who doesn’t love a good floral dress? (and who hates 20 solid taffeta bridesmaids dresses in their closet?!) If your theme color for your wedding is blue, this dress would make a great bridesmaid dress, and it’s very affordable!

The truth is, I debated between this For Love of Lemons temecula dress, a red floral one, and a black and white laser cut dress for my husband’s book launch party on Monday. This one won out and was my first choice, but to be honest, it was dependent on if we could get the zipper up! (I’ve had this problem before, maybe it’s time for a diet?!) The zipper was stuck on the waistband, and didn’t want to easily go up. According to jewelry designer and former clothing designer, Nicole Romano, it wasn’t because of me, but was because of the waistband. She assured me that invisible zippers often have this problem, which made me feel better! Thanks Nicole!

That brings me to the next topic, accessories! I paired this lovely Nicole Romano chunky necklace with the dress for a vava-voom look!

I think my boo’s new book Woolly makes a great accessory too! I am so proud of him. I felt so lucky that I got to hang with the world renowned geneticist, Dr. George Church–the main character of my husband’s new book. It was truly a dream come true, for the nerd inside of me!

Another bonus that I must mention about choosing this dress, is that it’s the theme color of our host location: Serafina Boston! And being outdoors in their brand new beer garden was a treat under the canopy of their huge umbrellas and with the sea breeze blowing over us.
